Widgets

The power of the MarkeyDS Display Editor wouldn't be complete without some key widgets that can be used to highlight your content dynamically. Below you can explore the variety of widgets and how to integrate them into your channel.

Slide Settings

These settings are available on every widget, beneath the Widget Settings of each slide.

ActionDescription
Show This SlideCheck the box for this slide to be published on your actual device(s). Uncheck the box to hide the slide from your device(s).
Caption

Have a line of text show up at the bottom of the slide.

Pro Tip: This can be helpful in a pinch if you're looking to put a little text over an image without having to use image editing software. Especially handy when uploading headshots of employees and you want to have their name at the bottom of the image as well.

Background Color

Open a color picker with options for basic colors or add to a custom color palette. Within the color picker, you can select from 48 predetermined colors or use the visual editor to select a custom color. Additional refinement can come with custom RGB values as well.

Pro Tip: This is especially helpful when using PNG image files with a transparent background and is a great way to add a little extra personality behind your images, text, clocks, and more!

Move This Slide To:Keep all of the settings the same and move the current slide to a different region on your channel.
Schedule

Set a specific start and end date and time for the specific slide.

Pro Tip: Use this when you're looking to communicate specific specials for a part of the week. For example, if you have an image or text slide that promotes a fish fry every Friday in the summer, set your start date to May 1 and your end date to October 1, then unselect all days except Friday.

The iFrame widget will allow you to display and single webpage URL within a region.

Note: Not all URLs will be optimized for framing in. Some trial and error to see what pages display properly or not might be involved depending on your use case.

Background X PositionSelect the horizontal alignment for your image to be left, center, or right.
Repeat Image?

Choose whether or not you want the image to repeat within the region. Options include No Repeat, Repeat X & Y, Repeat X, and Repeat Y.

Pro Tip: This setting is very similar to the desktop wallpaper settings in Windows where you can have the image repeat to make a sort of pattern or texture of a smaller image across a larger space. If the image is already the same size as the region or larger, this will not have an affect in most cases.

The Image - Remote widget allows for an image to be featured from a source outside of the Media Library.
